Saskatchewan and France have formalised a Letter of Intent (LOI) to collaborate on the development of supply chains for strategic minerals, including helium. Saskatchewan is one of the few jurisdictions actively promoting helium development by including it in its list of critical minerals, while most other regions, including the US and Australia, have excluded it from their lists. Saskatchewan is also providing tax incentives, interest-free loans, and signing treaties with other countries to ramp up its helium production. The new LOI with France, signed at the Saskatchewan Research Council, underscores both regions' commitment to enhancing supply chain security and advancing sustainability and research in critical minerals. The LOI highlights helium as one of the 23 critical minerals found in Saskatchewan, thus strengthening the helium supply chain between the two jurisdictions. The key player in Saskatchewan is North American Helium.
