The Government of Saskatchewan has launched Securing the Future: Saskatchewan's Critical Minerals Strategy with the aim of driving growth and development in the province's mining and processing sector. The strategy outlines four goals for the sector, including doubling the number of critical minerals being produced in Saskatchewan by 2030, growing Saskatchewan's production of potash, uranium, and helium, and establishing Saskatchewan as a rare earth element hub. The 2023 Budget also increased the Saskatchewan Mineral Exploration Tax Credit from 10 to 30%, and the Targeted Mineral Exploration Incentive from C$750,000 to C$4 million, which will aid in the development of the province's helium industry. The key players in the region are North American Helium, Royal Helium, Helium Evolution and Global Helium.
