After Indian capital New Delhi adopted helium detection for contaminated water testing, Chennai is employing helium gas and robots, to address waterline leaks and sewer network issues. Helium is being used to check for leaks, by injecting into water pipelines and tracking its movement, aided by small drilled holes. These advancements, including helium utilisation, mark an effective approach to enhancing water infrastructure maintenance and minimising transmission losses.
