Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has effectively reduced water network losses to 4.6% by integrating advanced technologies, including helium gas technology, into its management systems. This strategic implementation has contributed to saving 5.6bn gallons of water, equivalent to AED225mm (~US$60mm), enhancing the system's reliability and playing a crucial role in conserving water. The use of helium in leak detection within Dubai's extensive water distribution pipelines aligns with DEWA's commitment to sustainability and efficient resource management as part of the Dubai Integrated Water Resource Management Strategy 2030.
