Bluejay Mining announced a new discovery of high concentrations of helium and hydrogen at its Outokumpu Project in Finland, revealed through a systematic review of historical drill data and independent studies by the Geological Survey of Finland. Significant amounts of industrial gases, including up to 46% hydrogen in samples and 5.6% helium over 100m within an intersection of 1500m, at 1.5% helium, were found within the serpentinised ophiolites of the Outokumpu Belt, comparing favourably to major global deposits. Leveraging over 2,000 historical drillholes, Bluejay aims to fast-track the exploration, to make Finland the second helium producer in the EU after Poland. Bluejay has recently shifted focus from core mining to rare gases such as helium with its recent acquisition of prospective helium and natural hydrogen acreage in Greenland.
