The USGS is seeking public comments to aid in their analysis of the potential risks of supply disruption of helium and the potential impacts of such disruption on the US economy. The BLM is also returning responsibility for collecting data and reporting helium production and consumption statistics to the USGS. The Department of the Interior is required to review and update the list of critical minerals every three years, and this comment period is focused on helium but will be part of a broader review process.
