Walsh Engineering completed designing the sidetrack for Grand Gulf Energy's sidetrack drilling at Jesse-1A. Following a successful flow-test yielding 1mmcf/d of gas, the sidetrack aims to maximise gas production flow rates. The design includes casing the sidetrack to the bottom of the hole, with petrophysical logs to identify gas-bearing zones for stimulation and production. Acid stimulation is planned for the primary Leadville formation to enhance production rates. Additionally, the design allows for testing of secondary reservoir targets, such as the Devonian McCracken sandstone. Regulatory approvals are on track, with drilling scheduled for early 2024.
