Gazprom put out a press release to mark the 9th anniversary of the creation of Gazprom Helium Service, which contained some interesting information on the current status and future plans for the company. The article confirms the start-up of the second helium train out of three in 2023. It notes that Gazprom has acquired >200 units of equipment to transport helium and cryogenic gases: we presume it is referring to 1mmcf ISO tanks of helium. It is using these to transport helium to China through the border crossings of Russia and the Far East. It is partnering with Belarus, focusing on producing helium balloons and transporting gas for the markets in the FSU. In 2024, Gazprom will complete the construction of a large helium production and storage facility in the Sverdlovsk region and the Sakha Republic. By 2025, Gazprom plans to start large-scale helium production at the Kovykta field and launch the third train of the Amur Gas Processing Plant. It is conducting preparatory work for the implementation of large export contracts with countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
