The Timiskaming Graben on the Ontario–Quebec border has emerged as a promising hotspot for natural hydrogen exploration, with dissolved hydrogen found in gold mine groundwater, soil gas sampling and anomalies in Lake Timiskaming suggesting active outgassing along faults.
