South Korean helium import pricing reached a new record high of US$521/mcf in Nov'23 (YTD +30% y/y). We had estimated that South Korea would soon breach the US$500/mcf mark in Apr'23 when we compared South Korean pricing with its Asian peers (figure 2). Looking across the board, most Asian countries are suffering from dropping volumes as helium supply remains constrained but new pricing contracts are gradually kicking in, which can be seen with the import pricing of the main consuming regions such as Taiwan and China.
