RaySearch Laboratories, medical technology company, and partner QST (National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology) in Chiba, Japan, have taken a significant step forward with QST's acquisition of the RayStation® treatment planning system for clinical use in ion beam therapy. This move, valued at JPY 265mm, builds on a longstanding partnership aimed at enhancing ion beam therapy through innovations which involves treatment from helium ions. This collaboration highlights the evolving use of helium in advanced radiation therapy, marking a significant advancement in precision cancer treatment facilitated by QST's leading role in carbon ion therapy and the expanded capabilities of RayStation.
