Qatar's NFE Project to Produce over 1.5 BCF/Y of Helium from 2027

Qatar is pressing ahead with its US$29 billion North Field East (NFE) expansion project, which is the single largest project in the history of global LNG industry. QatarEnergy is partnering with four global energy majors – TotalEnergies, ExxonMobil, Eni and ConocoPhillips. The project will include helium production of ~1.5 BCF helium per year from 2027 (around 25% of current global supply).
