Qatar's dominance in global helium production, currently accounting for 40%, is set to increase with the ongoing North Field LNG expansion project. In a recent interview Mazin Babiker, General Manager at Gulf Helium Services, said that by 2027, the project aims to raise LNG production capacity by 64%, resulting in a significant impact on the wider helium market. With the addition of 1,500 containers of helium, Qatar's expanding role in helium and LNG production is poised to reshape the global industry landscape.
