Panoro Energy has been awarded a 100% stake in a 6,608sqkm South African licence (TCP 218), onshore in the Karoo Basin, citing natural gas and helium potential. Panoro will now evaluate the area’s potential in the coming months. Renergen is expected to bring South Africa's first helium production on line imminently and has the first mover advantage. There are now around five companies looking to explore/develop helium in the region.
