LHSC noted that modern sealed and recirculating MRI systems reduce helium loss versus older-generation machines that needed routine top-ups, with material helium release typically confined to rare quench events. Ontario's Ministry of Health has not been notified of any provincial patient-care or hospital-operations impacts to date.
