New Helium Plant in Russia to Add 140mmcf/y by 2025

Helium production from natural gas at the Srednebotuobinskoye oil and gas condensate field in Russia is set to commence in 2025, with an annual volume of up to ~140mmcf/y, reaching full capacity by 2028. A trilateral agreement of intent was signed involving the head of the Republic of Yakutia, ALROSA CEO, and DBB LLC's head to establish a helium extraction complex using resources from ALROSA's subsidiary, JSC ALROSA-Gas. The produced helium will be supplied to both domestic and neighbouring markets. Currently there are only 2 active helium production plants in Russia - Irkutsk and Orenburg.
