Helix spudded the Clink #1 well at its 100% owned Ingomar Dome field in Montana. This well is ~200m west of the historic Hilliston #1 well, which tested “non-flammable” gas from the Amsden Formation, suggesting the presence of helium. Helix plans to test stacked reservoirs targeting the Amsden, Charles and Flathead Formations, along with the pre-Cambrian fractured basement. Ingomar Dome has a P50 unrisked gross prospective helium resource of 2.3bcf, with an upside of 6.7bcf. The Flathead Formation (0.7bcf resource) at 7,410ft is the primary target, which is the main horizon producing helium regionally, with a 145ft gas column identified in a nearby well, Treasure #18-1, located only 6 miles down-dip from the Clink #1 well location. Secondary targets, the Charles Formation (0.7bcf resource) at 4,780ft and Amsden Formation (0.1bcf resource) at 3,840ft also contain previously discovered gas columns in historic wells, although they were not assayed for helium.
