In response to the USGS request for public comment on helium supply risk, Tulsa Gas & Gear LLC has expressed their concern about increasing risk due to supply disruption and fluctuating prices. Rising US demand is causing dependency on international sources, which introduces geopolitical uncertainty. Vital industries such as defense, healthcare, aerospace, and electronics all rely on helium and are at risk of supply disruption. The letter supports the idea of helium being considered a "critical mineral" under the Energy Act of 2020.
