The Jaisalmer Basin, situated in India, has recently reported enriched occurrences of Nitrogen and helium, raising the possibility of commercial helium in this region. The probability of helium generation through the mantle appears feasible, considering the high content and isotopic composition of helium in the reported natural gases. A significant fault divides the study area, with fields near the fault exhibiting high nitrogen levels (60-80%) and those away from it showing lower concentrations (20-30%) but higher methane content. This fault may serve as a conduit for nitrogen, trapped in shallow reservoirs along with thermogenic gases.
