Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV) initiated the process for obtaining safety approval from the UK's Civil Aviation Authority for its Airlander 10, a helium-filled aircraft designed to offer a more sustainable form of air travel. Despite being slower, with journeys taking nearly twice as long, the Airlander 10 is aiming for up to 90% lower carbon emissions compared to traditional flights. HAV aims for the Airlander, which can carry 100 passengers and has overcome previous technical challenges, to enter service by 2028, already attracting interest from airlines like Spain's Air Nostrum.
