The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has extended the bidding period for the sale of Federal Helium System Assets until 23rd Jan '24, with a sealed bid opening date set for January 25th. This extension allows potential bidders more time to assess updated helium and natural gas reserves data in the Bush Dome, aiming to facilitate informed competitive bids. Despite a filed lawsuit to halt the sale, a court decision on November 2, 2023, allows the federal helium system's operation to continue. The assets for sale include federally-owned crude helium gas with 1bcf of crude helium (Lot 1) and the Federal Helium System with 800mmcf of crude helium and 144bcf of native gas with 1.8% helium content (Lot 2), along with associated facilities, wells, and pipelines.
