A recent expedition to Greenland, led by Alberto Vitale from the University of Bologna, was undertaken to better understand and study natural hydrogen. The Greenland mission, part of programme funded by the European Union, involved a team of scientists from Italy and Denmark who spent 10 days studying 2bn-year old rocks. The expedition gathered hydrogen-rich samples for further study. Italy, through this expedition, aims to position itself at the forefront of understanding natural hydrogen, ensuring a more information is available for explorers who are pursuing natural hydrogen exploration.
