Georgina Energy engaged Aztech Well Construction to manage the re-entry and extension of the Hussar EP513 well in Western Australia's Officer Basin. It is set to commence in Dec'24 pending a drilling permit to extend the well from its original 2,040m depth to 3,400m to reach the subsalt Townsend Formation, which is believed to hold significant helium, hydrogen, and gaseous hydrocarbon resources. This formation, analogous to the Heavitree Formation in the Amadeus Basin, was not targeted in previous exploration efforts. The company is completing necessary engineering, environmental, and land access approvals, with site preparations already underway.
