Desert Mountain Energy announced that the West Pecos helium processing plant is now set to start up in early November after delays due to heavy rains. When DME took over operations in Jul’23, natural gas production was ~104mcf/d. The company has focused on optimising gas production and increasing well workovers, aiming to reach a goal of 1,500+ mcf/d. Recent sampling and historical data suggest an initial average of 0.50% helium grades implying only ~2.7mmcf/y. DME has acquired smaller-volume compressors to enhance helium-rich well production and are exploring potential end-user contracts to maximise shareholder value. Additionally, the company plans to convert CO2 into food-grade CO2 and are collaborating with external partners on its hydrogen projects.
