D3 Energy (D3E) is set to list on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), having raised A$10mm at A$c20/sh to fund its exploration and development projects in South Africa’s Free State region. The company holds substantial contingent resources of helium and methane adjacent to an existing Production Right and aims to capitalise on the high demand and rising prices for helium, alongside exploring conventional and alternative methane sources. Historic boreholes in the province and on D3 Energy’s acreage have been measured with a free-flowing gas rate of close to 100mcf/d, containing up to 6% helium and 80% methane. Renergen is the only other company close to helium production in Free State, South Africa.
