China Puts Helium Into 2026–30 Oil and Gas Plan

China has explicitly incorporated helium into its national oil and gas strategy for 2026–30. The 15th Five-Year Oil and Gas Development Plan calls for the integrated exploration and development of oil and gas alongside associated minerals/gases including helium, which should encourage national oil companies to test gas discoveries more systematically for helium and incorporate recovery into gas-processing projects where economic.
