Chapman Hydrogen and Petroleum Engineering, led by petrophysicist Denis Brière, is set to initiate testing and drilling operations in northern Ontario during summer 2024, aiming to discover underground hydrogen deposits. Following the identification of a natural hydrogen deposit in Mali, the company is inspired to explore Canada's potential, leveraging similar geological features shared with the Canadian Shield in Ontario, which is a large area of exposed Precambrian igneous and high-grade metamorphic rocks. Currently, there are no other companies exploring for natural hydrogen in Canada.
