BLM Revised Proposal Increases Helium Exploration Area in CO

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has revised its oil and gas leasing proposal to allow more acreage for potential leasing, particularly prioritising areas with helium resources in the Grand Junction Field Office, Colorado. This adjustment comes after industry feedback and public concerns, aiming to preserve vital helium recovery operations, while balancing other land uses. The new plan proposes to keep ~700k acres open for leasing, including ~166k acres identified specifically for helium, thereby supporting the continued extraction of this resource.
