Barrick, a global mining company, has been invited by the Tanzanian government to widen its research on strategic and critical minerals and gases, such as lithium, nickel, graphite, hydrogen and helium, which are abundant in Tanzania. Deputy Minister for Minerals, Dr Stephen Kiruswa, has asked the company to share technology with the Geological Survey of Tanzania, while also offering local experts access to its modern laboratories and scholarships. HeliumOne and Noble Helium are currently exploring for helium in Tanzania.
