An Australian Government-funded project is collaborating with H2EX, Black & Veatch, the University of Adelaide, and Australian National University to pioneer exploration techniques for natural hydrogen in the Earth’s crust. Focusing on H2EX's Eyre Peninsula license (PEL 691), the initiative aims to develop drilling and completion strategies for exploration wells and design surface facilities for hydrogen and helium purification and processing. This effort, which could impact energy generation and transportation on the Eyre Peninsula, is part of a broader interest in natural hydrogen as a potential energy source and helium for its high value.
