Australia Urged to Boost Helium Production Amid Middle East Conflict

The Qatar disruption has prompted renewed calls for Australia to capitalise on its helium potential, with the Future Energy Export Cooperative Research Centre estimating helium is likely to be present in commercial quantities at up to six of Australia's ten natural gas plants; although currently any helium extracted as part of LNG mining is released into tail gases rather than recovered.
