Air Liquide will invest ~US$500mm in three new state-of-the-art plants for the semiconductor sector in Taiwan, with the first set to be operational in 2024 where the company will be supplying large volumes of ultra-high purity industrial gases. Construction of the plants is part of a wider framework of long-term contracts with two of the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturers. This is another positive for helium demand in Taiwan, which has seen rapid growth in demand over the last few years.
