2H Resources, a wholly owned hydrogen and helium business of Buru Energy, has been granted six South Australian petroleum exploration licences for hydrogen exploration. The licences cover a total area of 30,000 km2, and two additional applications for Gas Storage Exploration Licences of 5,700 km2. A resource assessment by RISC Advisory has estimated six application areas from 49 mm KG (1U) to 1.3 bn KG (3U). The company has initially focused its activity on hydrogen in South Australia where the forward-looking legislative framework has led to heightened interest in exploration for both hydrogen and helium.
