Colombia is advancing its position in the global hydrogen market with a focus on green, blue, and notably, natural hydrogen production. The country currently has 28 hydrogen projects, leveraging its renewable energy resources, particularly in the Caribbean region, and is exploring its potential for natural hydrogen production from subsoil reserves. Despite challenges such as scaling generation facilities, equipment shortages, and the need for robust infrastructure, Colombia is committed to decarbonising its industry and becoming a key player in the hydrogen economy, aiming for competitive pricing and sustainable energy transition.
