French helium explorer, 45-8 Energy, plans to launch Europe's first mobile helium recycling unit later this year, which aims to preserve of helium. 99% of the helium used in Europe is released into the atmosphere after a single use, according to 45-8. The mobile unit travels to the helium salvage site, stores used helium, transports it to a dedicated site where it is purified, and returns the re-purified helium to the market. The project is supported by a scheme contained with the France 2030 Plan. The official launch of the activity is planned for the end of 2023.
