The US State Department partnered with Vietnam to enhance the global semiconductor ecosystem through the International Technology Security Innovation (ITSI) Fund, established by the CHIPS Act of 2022. The collaboration will assess Vietnam's semiconductor landscape and regulatory framework. Vietnam's semiconductor market is projected to reach US$17bn in 2023. The CHIPS Act aims to boost US semiconductor manufacturing, with a focus on supply chain security. This initiative reflects the semiconductor industry's ongoing growth, despite y/y sales fluctuations, and highlights the importance of semiconductor production in various technologies, including those utilising helium.
