The Biden-Harris Administration, through the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), has issued a Request for Information on the development and implementation of a US$675 million Critical Materials Research, Development, Demonstration, and Commercialization program which will address vulnerabilities in the domestic critical materials supply chain. The motive behind pursuing such laws is clearly to reduce the US's dependence on foreign sources of critical materials.
