The US Bureau Of Land Management (strategic helium storage), which was expected to supply around 5-10% of global helium demand in 2022, is now expected to be down until April at least. This comes on top of Gazprom's shut-in of the Amur helium plant in Russia for 6 months or more due to plant fires. Therefore, AKap Energy sees considerable tightness in the helium market this year, with end-users having their allocations of helium from the industrial gas companies such as Linde, Air Liquide and Air Products significantly reduced, driving helium prices higher.
