Russia has significantly increased its helium production in 2023. Test runs of a new plant in the Yaraktin oil and gas condensate field have contributed to a +16.8% y/y increase in helium production in H1'23. The main driver of future helium production is expected to come from Gazprom's gas processing plant in the Amur Region, which aims to produce 2.1 bcf/y of helium but given current sanction on Russia we do not expect this to restart anytime soon.
