McGill's Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) laboratory has partnered with the Sustainability Projects Fund (SPF) to install a helium recovery system in order to reduce the amount of helium they purchase and waste. By recycling 80-90% of the liquid helium they use, the NMR lab is helping to reduce the cost of maintaining their eight NMR spectrometers while also being more environmentally friendly.
