AKap Energy's analysis is showing record Chinese helium imports from Russia in October. This suggests that the first volumes from Gazprom's new Amur Helium plant started to arrive in China in October. Gazprom announced that the first of the Amur GPP’s three helium units came onstream on in early September. We estimate China imported 2.7mcf of helium from Russia, which although up sharply m/m (and by far a record volume) is still less than 5% of its helium imports for the month. We will be closely following the Chinese import trends over the coming months.
