Party City's Q2'22 results and earnings call detailed the impact of the helium shortage on its business. It expects to take a US$10mm hit in 2022 (150 basis point impact on margins) due to higher sourcing costs and temporary helium outages in a few locations. Party City is more sanguine on the remainder of 2022 with the US BLM back up and running and H1 generally the higher demand period. It did highlight that its balloon business is up 60% from 2019 levels driven more by higher sales than higher costs. The Anagram wholesale balloon business also suffered from the helium shortage.
