It is interesting to note that there have been no cargoes of helium imported into India in early January despite an earlier pick up in volumes late 2023. We will have to wait and see whether this is due to any issues getting helium to India or something else explains this. India imported a few ISO quantity cargoes from Russia in Nov-Dec'23, coinciding with the expansion of Gazprom's Amur facility. Given the sanctions imposed by Western countries, Russia's market options are somewhat constrained, making geographically proximate and non-aligned nations like China and India ideal partners. In China, Russian helium imports have surged, escalating from barely 1-2mmcf/month at the start of 2023 to ~25mmcf/m by year-end.
