In a recent interview with Proactive, Bruce Nurse of Purewave Hydrogen discussed its collaboration Longhorn Exploration to explore natural hydrogen. Purewave has optioned its leases to Longhorn with plans to merge under the name Pure Hydrogen by early Sep'24. This initiative aims to leverage traditional oil and gas methods to identify and produce hydrogen from iron-rich rock formations, particularly in Kansas' Midcontinent Rift. The company completed an engineering and resource report with Sproule and is preparing for an audit. Kansas is a hotspot for natural hydrogen exploration with companies such as HyTerra and Koloma also actively exploring in the region.
