In 2023, Gazprom expanded its helium production capacity by 8x via its first helium production train at the Amur facility. As reported by the Russian News Agency TASS, a total of over 85 mmcf of helium was shipped between Sep'23 - Dec'23, with 100 ISO tanks being utilised for the transport. We have already seen Russian exports flowing into China during this period confirming Gazprom's claims. Estimating a 6 bcf/y helium market, Russia's exports in these 3 and a half months alone add ~5% to global helium supply.
