Exxon has reportedly postponed the planned maintenance at La Barge in August of this year until 2023. La Barge (Shute Creek) in Wyoming provides around 25% of global helium supply and its last maintenance shutdown in 2019 lasted for around 6 weeks in July and August. La Barge had a record year in terms of helium production in 2021 (1.6bcf), a rare bright spot in the current market that has been hit by multiple outages and reduced supply.
