France is a promising area for helium exploration with 45-8 having had encouraging results so far to date. 45-8 Energy's “Avant-Monts Franc-Comtois” licence has finally been granted by the French State for a 5-year period. It covers ~75k acres in the western part of the Doubs department, Central-Eastern France. 45-8's preliminary estimate of reserves in the area are ~425mmcf. The Company will now be analysing the area to confirm the helium concentration, which will include detailed geological mapping, taking soil gas samples, and geophysical measurements. As well as helium production there is the potential for food-grade CO2 to be manufactured. The presence of a small percentage of natural hydrogen (gold hydrogen) cannot be excluded either.
